After effects of Covid-19 (Professions & Businesses)

After effects of Covid-19 (Professions & Businesses)
Covid-19 has created distressful situations to people from all walks of life regardless of race, religion, gender, language etc. All the sectors including the agricultural sector, manufacturing sector, tourism sector and aviation sector is drastically affected.
Worst Affected Businesses by Covid-19:
·         Aviation: Due to Covid-19, all the flights had to be stopped by the end of March 2020 to curb the spread of the virus. As a result of it, pilots, aircrew staff and employees working in the aviation industry had to stop their work and sit idle at home till there is a progress or change in the current situation of Covid-19. Everyone’s routine has been thrown out of whack, making them lose the control over their lives.
·         Tourism: Millions of jobs in the global tourism industry could be lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has impacted travel like no other event in history and caused 96 per cent of all worldwide destinations to introduce restrictions in response to the outbreak.
·         Restaurants: One of the sectors worst affected by Covid-19 will be food services, estimated at Rs 4,23,865 crore in India and employing more than 700,000 people, according to the National Restaurant Association of India. As brick-and-mortar businesses shut down, restaurants are struggling, but small efforts are afoot to salvage whatever they can.
·         Salons and Beauty parlours: Every industry has been impacted by Corona virus shutdowns, but for hairdressers and other hands-on beauty service providers, it has been devastating. About 72 percent of hair salon workers polled said that they either live paycheck-to-paycheck or have only about a month’s worth of cash reserves to live on. About 23 percent reported having no health insurance. Many salons laid off their workers quickly after the shutdowns, allowing them to apply for unemployment benefits.
·         Movie theatres: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a substantial impact on the film industry, mirroring its impacts across all arts sectors. Across the world and to varying degrees, cinemas and movie theatres have been closed, festivals have been cancelled.
·         Floral shops: Demand for tulips dropped precipitously as flower shops around the globe have shut, consumers have gone into lockdown and celebrations have been cancelled. When tulip stems came up at the country’s largest flower market in Aalsmeer, the prices stalled over and over again at zero.
·         Food delivery applications: Customers are wary whether the food they order from online delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato is safe or not. Among the concerns are the health of the delivery partner and the hygiene conditions of places where the food is made. The food delivery platforms have begun an outreach programme assuring their customers about the safety of ordering food online. They are informing customers about the best practices being followed in order to win back their trust.
·         Automobile manufacturing companies: The automotive industry is disrupted by the four megatrends connected, autonomous, electric and shared driving, causing an unprecedented technology and business model transformation. Amid this transformation, the COVID -19 outbreak is putting additional stress on the industry. After initial supply and manufacturing disruptions, the industry is now experiencing a demand shock with uncertain recovery timeline due to shelter -in -place regulations. Decrease in market capitalization will likely accelerate industry consolidation and without securing additional funding, some players risk going out of business.
Worst Affected Professions by Covid-19:
·         Pilots & Cabin Crew: They are facing from pay cuts and at are a high risk of losing their jobs as well due to this pandemic. They are also at a high risk of being infected by Covid-19 as they might have to come in contact with passengers tested positive.
·         Travel agents: Tourism and travel cannot be revived back to normal at least for the next two years. Travel agents are losing their jobs and their futures are bleak. They have to look for alternatives that can be done from home.
·         Taxi Drivers: Singapore's taxi sector has taken a massive hit due to the COVID-19. Moreover, Bangalore’s auto rickshaw and taxi drivers appeal for aid amid Covid-19 lockdown. The COVID-19 outbreak has forced taxi companies in Germany to get creative, with many offering food and medicine delivery services. Drivers worry it won't be enough to avert a wave of bankruptcies in the industry.
·         Actors/ActressesActors have to go on the film's set or their television show's set to produce daily and it has come to a halt due to the outbreak of Covid-19. They are staying idle at home and not getting their incomes due to it.
·         Food delivery persons: Business is up 30 to 50 percent for food delivery services like UberEats. And COVID-19 has impact on food delivery services and therefore, food delivery persons have lost their jobs as their companies are facing losses themselves.
Less Affected Businesses by Covid-19:
·         Hospitals & Pharmacies: As the lockdowns are being observed all over the globe and the national level pharmacy professionals are performing frontline roles, the role of pharmacists and doctors in the COVID − 19 pandemic is becoming more vital. Pharmacists globally are providing services amidst pandemic, including TRIAGE services, seeing patients and reducing the patients’ burden on health care facilities such as hospitals and GP practices. Pharmacists are also working to providing home deliveries, as well as dealing with the increasing number of patients coming through to pharmacies with the other ailments.
·         Graphic and web designing: In times of crisis, graphic design and visual messaging is more important than ever and there is a wider scope for it as well. Graphic design could be a crucial way to reach out and reassure more vulnerable communities during the coronavirus.
·         Online tutoring: COVID-19 caused schools and colleges across the globe to be closed and over 1.2 million children in 186 countries are affected by school closures due to the pandemic. Our education system is losing relevance and thus, language apps, virtual tutoring, video conferencing tools, or online learning software is becoming more prominent nowadays so that students will not lose out on skill development during such times.
Less Affected Professions by Covid-19:
·         Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacists: Their dedication, knowledge and expertise are required and are of utmost importance to the public. They have to work day and night to save the people from this pandemic. They are working overtime for this.
·         Online Tutors: Students are not able to attend regular schools and colleges. Thus, they had to avail help and service from online tutors to help them gain knowledge during this period of pandemic. They are ready to pay them high in order to prevent themselves from being idle at home.
·         E-commerce technologists: Businesses are shifting rapidly to e-commerce, and those without a strong e-commerce portal and associated infrastructure will need to build that out quickly. As a result, we could see a spike in hiring for all kinds of technologists skilled in e-commerce. There is every chance that the demand for technologists with e-commerce abilities will only grow over the next year and beyond.

How to Dream Big

How to Dream Big
Dreams are not which you see while sleeping but it is something that does not let you sleep. These thoughts will motivate and boost your energy to result in action. Dreaming big means having the mental freedom to think about what you really want out of life and forget about all the reasons why you cannot make it a reality. It means having high standards for your life and setting the bar high for yourself.
Reasons why you need to dream big:
·         We might use dreaming big to motivate ourselves to see the bigger picture of what we really want in life. We can write our dreams, ideas, and goals down and use that as an inspiration whenever we need that little extra push. We can remind ourselves why we are working so hard to make our dreams come true.
·         We can accomplish anything we set our mind to. The mind is a very powerful tool that will do the impossible if we believe and tell ourselves that we can. Have the strength to overcome fear, take criticism, and even defeat in order to achieve our dreams and always remember that anything is possible.
·         We have to chase our dream as when we are young we will have the stamina and motivation to reach greater heights. Once the years go by, our death is just getting closer and hence, we should live everyday as if every day would be our last.
·         We need to dream big as all dreams are valid and we should be what we want to be and not what others think we should be.
·         We should not be scared or timid to follow our dreams and we should focus on something different everyday to make our life interesting.
·         We should dream big and pursue our dreams because we are not someone in life until we pursue our dreams.
·         Never give up on our dreams no matter how hard it is and do not listen to negative people because they do not have the right to tell us what to do and we have to be ourselves no matter what.
How to dream big?
1. Don’t be afraid to dream big.
We should remember that dreams do not have to only exist when we are sleeping. People from all walks of life do not truly realise what they are capable of, so they dream small or do not dream at all. With hard work, determination and some smart planning, we really are capable of so much more than we think. Do not underestimate what we are capable of and aim high.
2. Dream big but plan small.
While it is important to dream big, it can seem overwhelming when we set huge goals. We can be unsure of how to get there, resulting in nothing getting done at all. So while we should dream big, it is important to plan small. Break down our big goals into smaller ones and then tackle them individually. When it is broken down into achievable phases, it feels more manageable and we are more likely to keep moving ahead.
3. Track your progress.
When working towards a goal, it is important to have regular checks to see how we are progressing. If we are not tracking well, it is time to reassess and see what we can do to keep improving and succeeding. If we are not where we want to be, that is ok too. Sometimes things are not as easy as we expect and it just needs a little more hard work to get ahead.
4. Get the right support.
It is really important to surround ourselves with people who are like-minded and supportive. Do not try and do it all alone and ask our family and friends or even find us a mentor or coach that can support us along the way. The more positive influences we have around when working towards these goals, the better it is. It is also a great motivation when we find someone who has already achieved what we want and can help guide us through the process. Having the right support around us really can make all the difference in getting what we want in life.
5. Get motivated.
When working towards a big goal or dream, it is important to stay motivated every day. Motivation does not always come constantly or easily so we find writing down our reasons and practicing visualizations of how we will feel once we reach our goals are both awesome tools to help with motivation.
6. Take action.
Reaching our goals is no one else’s responsibility but our own. Goals written down on a piece of paper are a great idea, but if we do not go out there and take action, then there is no point. We must do everything we can to get what we want. If the overall task seems hard, break it down and do something small each day. Taking small steps consistently over time will eventually help us to reach our goals. It may not happen overnight but it will happen, as long as we keep taking action.
7. Failures are part of the journey.
If we have big dreams, we need to be prepared for some hardships along the way. Generally, the bigger the dream, the harder it can be to reach. Just because we come across some obstacles or do not reach our goal in the first try, it does not mean we should stop trying. In fact, being knocked down is just part of the journey. Every successful person has failed more than once in his or her life. The important thing is to keep going and keep getting back up. We should learn from your mistakes and know they are just part of the process.
In a nutshell, dreaming big is good as it helps a person set far-reaching goals and do bold things but it can only work if a person has healthy relationships with failure, tryouts and taking tiny steps. We should not teach anyone just to dream big but we should teach them to dream big while taking small steps. Hence, remember to always believe in ourselves and dream big. We really can achieve anything we want from life but we just need to be prepared to work hard, take action and keep pushing through when things get tough.

India is doing better than other countries in fight against coronavirus pandemic

India is doing better than other countries in fight against coronavirus pandemic…

. “Resilience, hope and compassion are the need of the hour

·        India is in a much better position due to its holistic approach and quick decisions.

·        India may have paid a big economic price but there can be no alternative to saving human lives.

·        The latest innovations against the virus, the country's military Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (EME) Corps developed a quadcopter fitted with up to five liters (1.3 gallons) of disinfectants that can sanitize an area the size of a football field in less than five minutes.

·        Rich, poor, middle-class, men or women, there are people who have set an example for the rest of us, showing how social distancing doesn’t mean emotional distancing. That care and compassion become a necessity when the going gets tough because, at the end of the day, that is what truly makes us human. Here are some true warriors:

1.     Nashik farmer donates harvest: Datta Ram Patil, a small farmer from Nashik is donating one-third of the wheat harvested from his three-acre land to the needy. “I am a small farmer. We’re not financially stable, but if we have 1 chapatti then we can give half to others who are in dire need,” he told ANI

2.     Care mongering community: Various caremongering communities, providing emotional support and physical support have sprouted up across social media. In Bengaluru, Mahita Nagaraj has started Caremongers India, under which volunteers are providing medicines and grocery to senior citizens. In Gurgaon, a woman has offered to cook meals for elderlies who are living on their own. Anita Hirani is offering free meals to anyone stuck in Bandra without food.

·        Evacuation pods: The Indian Navy has also developed an air evacuation pod for coronavirus patients that keep keeps pilots and other passengers safe from infection. "The pod is made of aluminum and weighs 32 kilograms [70.5 pounds]. It costs $650, while the international pods cost $76,832. Thus, less than 1% cost” Five Indian states that are proactively coming up with innovative solutions to contain the deadly virus:

1.     Kerala: They have been able to control the situation well because of certain measures they took immediately, extensive testing of symptomatic cases, followed by a painstaking contact-tracing process and the publishing the route map of an infected person they also released the GoK Direct app to check the spread of fake information. Furthermore, an initiative called the Corona Safe Network has been created, with two major components: the Corona Literacy Mission and the Corona Care Centre to create awareness on COVID-19 and for converting educational institutions into hospitals to offset for shortages.

2.     Odisha: Every district of Odisha will have exclusive covid-19 hospitals. It will provide free medical treatments to all covid-19 patients. The state’s Mission Shakti Self Help Group (SHGs) are making masks in bulk to avoid any shortage , they are also running panchayat –level kitchen centers to cook meals for those in need. The government further paid out advance social pension for four months to around 2.8 million beneficiaries.

3.     Maharashtra:  It currently leads the chart with the number of COVID-19 positive cases. The state is using data analytics, drones and traditional patrolling methods to survey crowded places.

4.     Rajasthan: Bhilwara model followed by the state helped them overcome the crisis. It went into full lockdown backed with curfew and the entire population went into health screening.  They also delivered essentials to the households according to the data collected by them. This model is receiving praise from the entire country.

5.     Uttar Pradesh: It established laboratories to test the sars-cov-2 pathogen immediately after the first positive case was reported. The government is already working to boost the manufacturing units of PPE, N95 masks, triple- layer masks, thermal analyzers, ventilators and other equipment. The state administration is making sure tp provide food to all with the help pf two platforms- Annapurna and Supply Mitra . People with old-age or disability pensions will be given two months’ advance.

·        Everyone is in the same boat, everyone is down-sizing, everyone is trying to stay afloat, and everyone is re-inventing, re-structuring, and re-organizing. Marketing strategies, websites, and social media pages are being recreated and the focus on content creation has increased. Everyone is preparing for the “new normal”.

What is a Blog? Why is blogging considered as an important part of Social Media

Even in the 2020s, not everyone is familiar with the concept of blog and blogging. Most people are still confused between blogs and websites. Today's article is all about the meaning of blog, the history of blog, the difference between a blog and a website and why blogging is an important part of social media.
What is a blog?
A blog derived from the word Weblog, is an online journal where writers or a group of writers share their views on a particular subject. It is logging of one’s ideas, experiences, thoughts and more.
Your blog represents you on the social platform. You can personalize your blog with different themes, colors and pictures that fits you. There are many reasons to start a blog. It could either be for business purposes or personal purpose. Blogging might bring you money depending upon your content.
The appearance of blogs has changed over time and nowadays blog include different items. But most blogs have some standard features and structures such as,
1. Header - title of the blog or a photograph and the main navigation menu - Home, About, Contact
2. Body - the main content area
3. Sidebar - widgets and highlighted things such as favorite links, popular post, a subscription option, recent post and social media tools.
4. Footer - content that doesn't change such as links to About me and Contact me.
History of Blogging

The concept of Blog was first introduced by Justin Hall a student in the year 1994. Links.net the first blog consisted of his thoughts, ideas and links to websites he liked as well as his own work. Many others as well followed Hall's footsteps and wrote about their lives and thoughts.
Blog was then termed as "Online Diaries" or "Personal Pages".
In the year 1997, John Barger coined the term "Weblog" to describe his sites. In the early stages, blogs were created by programmers and focused on highly technical subjects. This changed in the year 1998 when Jonathan Dube became the first journalist to blog an event. His blog recorded a history for ' The Charlotte Observer '
In 1998, there was another creation of "Open Diary", a blogging platform that offered the members of the community to comment on each other's writing. This is the very first tool that makes blogging accessible to the regular people.
Introduction of Blogging platforms
In 1999, the word "weblog" was dropped for a similar word "blog" by Peter Merho. There were three new blogging platforms introduced - Xanga, Livejournal and Blogger.
Xanga focused on the social side of blogging (similar to myspace) and boasted 300,000 users but faded out of the blogging world entirely.
Livejournal started as a website where Bard Fitzpatrick could keep in touch with his high school friends. This platform quickly grew into a place where all kinds of people recorded their thoughts and spoke about their lives.
Blogger was created by Pyra Labs. It began its life as a Commercial blogging service. In 2003, Blogger was purchased by Google. This was a drastic step which changed the world of blogging. This move not only pushed the bloggers but also the regular people in the world of blogging.

What is the difference between blogs and website?
Majority of people are not able to differentiate a blog and a website. Blogs need frequent updates for example a Travel Blog. A travel company or travel blogger will publish blogs on different destinations on timely basis. However a website is different. Website doesn't need timely updates. Website owners will rarely update their website. A website consist details about the company and their products for example a hotel website. The content on the blog has a potential to offer information about any subject every day, week or month. This is the unique feature about a blog. Websites don't change for months or years sometimes unless the company plans to upgrade their website.

Why is blogging an important part of the social media?
Social Media and Blogging are not two different platforms. A blog helps you to built a strong audience of people who are interested in your subjects and who will make sure to read your blogs every time you publish it. However, that's not the case with social media. Social media will help you built a bigger audience for that matter however, not every social media follower would be interested in your content. It's more like quality over quantity.
Blogging without social media is merely impossible. In-order to built your network, you need to take help from social media. You won't believe most famous icons like Komal Pandey the Fashion blogger, Tanya Khanijow the Travel blogger, Mini Ikon the Influencer & Travel blogger where once common people like us. What make them famous? The answer is Social Media.

Blogging is thus considered to be an important part of Social media.
